Rockvilla Pre-Visited Updates

February 20 Update

Work on the actual layout has been shelved for moment to allow preparation for our forthcoming visit to the Preston show with Eaglesham at the end of this month.

Work has however been progressing on the rolling stock for both the 1923 and 1963 version of Rockvilla Pre-Visited, some pictures below.  Some of these will be fitted with sound.

August Update

Bill is powering ahead (steaming) with Rockvilla Pre-VIsited, both boards are now almost complete with track, electrics and electronics 99% complete.   A test session highlighted a couple of areas that need a little work, these will be address and we'll make sure everything is working as it should before scenic work begins.

We had a good chat about the scenic features for the layout, banding ideas about and have come up with some good ideas that we'll hone as we progress.

We were trying out a Megapoints DCC Module, which will allow point control via the DCC handset, couldn't quite get it to work but an email to the tirelessly helpful Dave Fenton will get it sorted!

Summer 19 Update

Picture
The first photo of the new layout, constructed from 9mm plywood sandwiching softwood giving very strong framework.  Originally it was planned just to use traditional 2" x 1" timber with a plywood top.

Tracklaying has also started.  Eaglesham is still getting invites to shows (see Exhibition Diary page), but as it is essentially 'complete', work can be focussed on Rockvilla Pre-Visited
