The extension to Eaglesham continue apace, you can read about the latest instalment on the Eaglesham Extension Progress page.
Joe has taken the decision to put Rockvilla Goods up for sale in order to concentrate and fund a new project.
This is being done with a heavy heart but he doesnt have the storage space for 2 layouts!
The sale includes:
Both scenic boards with 3-road traverser
New extension board which has 2 running lines astride an island platform
All legs, underboard storage tray & backscenes
All buildings and structures
All road vehicles (minus the buses) shown in the photographs, plus a number of others
All model figures
Just add your own control system (wired for DCC but can easily be adapted to DC operation) and 16v AC power source for the point motors and electromagnet and its a fully working layout
As alterations had started for the extension, the road bridge decks will need to be replaced (the originals were simply painted card). The trackwork between the main boards has been replaced, painted and ballasted.
Joe has some photographs showing the layout before the recent works, and some photos of the current condition, please send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org for more details
All serious offers considered. Collection will be from East Kilbride, south of Glasgow. The layout will fit in a large hatchback, people carrier, estate or Berlingo sized van.
The stock will be sold separately, if interested, please send Joe a message to the address above.
Eaglesham features in this months (January 2015) issue of British Railway Modelling, the layout looks great, thanks in part to Nigel Burkin who took the photographs.
Overall, Milton Street MPD performed well at the recent Falkirk Model Railway Exhibition. A few issues presented themselves which we overcame but they will need further investigation before the next exhibition, the Kilmarnock & District Model Railway Show on 17th and 18th January 2015.
The layout was very well received by the public, attracting many favourable comments, and the layout's owner, Spencer Anderson, was even asked for his autograph by a chap who had seen the layout in Hornby Magazine and was a big fan!
That was a first for us!
Arrangements are being made to photograph Milton Street MPD for one of the monthly magazines, more news as this progresses.
Sad news was delivered at the show, Nairnshire Modelling Supplies are sadly no longer attending any more exhibitions, this is a shame as their stall was great for picking up those little bits and pieces that can be hard to find elsewhere. Nairnshire will concentrate their efforts into the mail order side of their business. We at the 12AD Model Railway Group wish Sarah and Nigel all the best for the future, a friendlier couple you could not meet.
The main focus has now been turned to Eaglesham and its extension, we have created a new page, Eaglesham Extension Progress. This page will be updated regularly to document the extension in words and pictures.
There will be an announcement in the near future regarding Rockvilla Goods new identity and plans for its future.
