![]() At last weekend's Cathcart Model Railway Exhibition, Helenston made its final appearance on the exhibition circuit. Keiths' decision to retire the layout is to allow him to concentrate on other projects and personal plans. Many favourable comments were received at the show, and as an accolade to the 12AD crew, Keith was presented with The McMillan Torphy 2016 award for Helenston's Coal Drops... We now turn our attentions to Milton Street MPD and the Warley exhibition over the weekend of 26th & 27 November. The above quote was an oft repeated phrase from Jimmy "The Bunnett" Anderson who sadly passed away on 22nd October 2016. Jimmy was a founding member of the East Kilbride Model Railway Club and a well known figure on the circuit. His enthusiasm was catching and his sharp wit would cut you to pieces, he was a terrific modeller not only of railway subjects, but also a modeller of boats - being featured in the local press for his 5ft long model of the paddle steamer Waverley.
Above all, he was a great man and will be sorely missed by many within, and outside, of the modelling community. RIP Jimmy, we've still "no goat that finished yit" |
