Over the past month work has progressed on Helsenston and the layout is starting to come together piece by piece. The base for the majority of scenic work is in place and work has started on some of the structures and buildings.
Some project photo's have been added in Bill's Workbench page, showing Bill's talent with brass and solder!
In 2 weeks time, 12AD have our first outing of the year to the Maryport Model Club's - 9th Annual Model Exhibition, 9th/10th April at Netherhall School, Netherhall, Maryport, Cumbria CA15 6NT. We are exhibiting Milton Street MPD, if you are going along, come and say hi, we don't bite but do talk a lot of nonsense.
Work is proceeding on Keith's layout Helenston, with work started on the ballasting and scenic formers. The backscenes have also been temporarily set in place. The layout will be in a good state of scenic finish in time for its debut at the Kyle show in May.
Spencer is working through his loco fleet in preparation for Milton Street MPD's outing to Maryport in April, whilst Bill is busy fomulating ideas in his head for a new layout - this wont be a replacement to the much loved Eaglesham, rather, it will be a complimentary project.
Joe has been busy building pointwork for his new layout which he has decided to name Gallowmere, OL5. In the meantime he has decided to extend the layout at both ends to give extra storage in the fiddle yard and create space for non-railway features.
Big news for the 12AD is that we have been invited back to the Warley Model Railway Exhibition in November this year, this time with Milton Street MPD, as Eaglesham is being exhibited at the Falkirk show on the same weekend, this will be the first time our group has exhibited in 2 locations at the same time!
Other exhibition news is that Helenston has been provisionally invited to exhibit at the Cathcart exhibition in October this year, the Ayr show in September 2017 and Gallowmere, 0L5 has been invited to the Falkirk show in November 2017.
